This product is a luxury item done on a special loom. It takes many months of work to produce using a long lost technique which was recovered by the able hands of peasants from Potosí, Bolivia who have recovered a large amount of their culture under the direction of the ArteNativo association, rediscovering and promoting their millennial craft.
Even though the weight of the garment demonstrates the large amount of wool used in making it, the significance of the weave is found in its difficulty for a manual craftsman.
This luxury item is characterized by a fine and very uniform finishing. The elegance of the colors used is emphasized by the two lines of animal figures woven into a thin strip that show superior quality. These two lines, done in brown and white, have a representation of the viscacha (an Andean rodent similar to the squirrel and the rabbit).
This poncho can either be worn as an original garment or hung in the living room as a luxury decoration and stands out for the quality of its workmanship. Just like the technique that is used, this poncho is made to resist the passage of time absolutely.
