This jacket is an original combination of elegance with a touch of informality. The garment is made of 100% sheep wool, but above all note the relationship of the craftsmen with nature to obtain the color.

The color for these garments are extracted from plants in the region. Green is prepared from thola quenchamal, molle (a type of pepper tree) and eucalyptus, among others. The shades of green depend on the number of leaves used, and it varies with the time of year with leaves harvested in summer giving the best color.
The red shades (violets, purples, cherry, pink) are obtained from the cochinilla a parasite from the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, known locally as tuna.  

The mariposa poncho has a frayed detail on the edges and seams which give it a rustic, simple touch.
So, with the natural dyes, simple details and originality, this unique garment has its own style.
